  • Be on time for class.
  • Get prior approval when starting class on time is not possible.

Hygiene

  • Keep fingernails & toenails properly trimmed.
  • Ensure your hands and feet are clean before stepping on the mats.
  • Wear a clean Gi, No Gi apparel, and belts to each class.
  • Footwear must always be worn off the mats.
  • Gym footwear only on the mats. (Wrestling / Boxing Shoes)
  • Report any skin infections and do not train until medically cleared.
  • Do not train while ill or sick.
  • Control body odor and bad breath.

  • Wear Shirts or Rash Guards, regardless of Gi or No Gi training.
  • Remove jewelry, piercings, watches, etc., before training.
  • Keep long hair pulled back & secured.
  • Ensure all apparel is appropriate for a family environment.

  • Respect the tap – Always! 
  • Communicate any injuries to staff prior to class.
  • Excessive force will not be tolerated.
  • Discuss using advanced and risky techniques with your partner before rolling.
  • Everyone should be ready to clean the mats at the end of class.
  • Mouthguards are encouraged during training.

  • Remain quiet and focused during warm-up and instructional times.
  • Do not leave the mats without permission.
  • Parents and Students – No coaching from the sidelines.
  • Treat everyone with respect.
  • Wait for the instructor to break for hydration.
  • Show courtesy before and after each sparring session.
